Best way to clone a start up disk.

I currently have a 256gb SSD as my startup disk and want to replace it with a 500 or 1tb.

What is the best way to clone the drive? Is Time machine the best way and will that copy all the system files, apps, photos and docs...?

Thanks!

Time Machine doesn't clone.

CarbonCopyCloner and SuperDuper are the two most common commercial tools each with their own advantages. SuperDuper will let you do entire drive cloning for free. CCC has a trial mode.
