Why does my iPhone 7 give me a list of selections when I select an app?Can I disable this feature?

I don’t get why there’s a list of selections that pops up when I click on an app. I need to disable this feature.

iPhone 7, iOS 14

If that pops up, you're pressing and holding. Tap more quickly.

What do you mean by "a list of selections"? Can you post a screenshot? Are you possibly pressing and holding on the app? Try just tapping it.
