AOL Deleted Saved Mail (Question and a Warning)

I received an email from AOL saying new security meant I needed to delete and read the AOL account on mu iPhone (and iPad) app. Did that. However, I had mail folders within the Saved mail for AOL, and everything in a subfolder within Saved is now deleted - from my phone, from my iPad, and from mail.aol.com using a browser.

No, I choose not to use iCloud to back up my email. How can I get my saved mail back?

Note that AOL's solution is to sell you a paid account - similar to people encrypting your device and asking for gift cards to unlock it. Disgusted. Of course, "It's an Apple problem . . . . "

If you chose to save to the phone somehow (POP account maybe) then you can get them back by restoring the phone from your last backup. Hopefully you backup weekly so you don’t lose too much other data.

The problem is Aol and Verizon rejigging their setup. Buying premium account will not bring back your saved on the phone emails.

Go for a decent IMAP company like the free iCloud mail that comes with your AppleID, or Microsoft mail.
