Hi all,
I am swapping from iPhone 7 Plus to a 6. iCloud backup from 7 Plus was in iOS 14.1, but iPhone 6 cannot get a newer update than iOS 12.5.1, how can I downgrade my iCloud backup to a version compatible for the iPhone 6/ iOS 12.5.1? Is it doable via an iPhone or only via a pc.

We definitely understand wanting to make sure your data is safely transferred and we'd be happy to help. If your iPhone 7 backup was on iOS 14, you will not be able to load that onto your iPhone 6, as it cannot support that iOS version. Learn more about this here: If you can't back up your iOS or iPadOS device to a computer or restore it from a backup in the "If a message states that your backup is corrupted or incompatible" section.
However, you can sync your content with iCloud to move over as much as possible automatically, when you sign into your same Apple ID on your iPhone 6. See this process here: Set up iCloud on your iPhone
