"Automatically Add to TV" folder keeps adding duplicates.

For years I've used the great little folder "Automatically Add to iTunes". With the update that split out the different media types, I just recently started using the one for the TV app. While moving some media files over from one older Mac mini to a newer one, I thought it would be smart to utilize that folder. Now I've got 132,000 episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond in my library (even though the external drive only shows 13ish episodes in my media folder). While I love Ray Romano as much as the next guy... I don't think I need this many copies of season 1 bogging down my system. My Apple TV is not happy with me, not even a little bit.

Anyone experience this before? More importantly... any know how to edit that folder to prevent it from happening again?

I also have 864 episodes of Firefly... but I don't mind that so much.

Thanks!

Ouch! Take one unique copy of each episode first and move them somewhere safe, then delete the rest and the Automatically Add to TV folder and empty the trash. It will be recreated next time you launch TV. Try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Mac - Apple Community, but apply to the TV media folder. Test with a single import to see if can be absorbed into the library without being duplicated.
