Apple Cash, why cant I proceed?

It sounds like your Apple Cash is locked or restricted. If they locked it and you went through the process to unlock it and were denied, there is nothing you can do. But if you tried verifying your ID and got an error you need to sign out of your Apple ID and back in.

Go to your Apple Cash card

• iPhone: Open the Wallet app, then tap your Apple Cash card.
• iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
• Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.

You'll see the option to Verify Identity or Contact Apple Support. Tap one, then follow the onscreen steps. Learn more about identity verification. 

If your account is restricted, you can still transfer your Apple Cash balance to your bank or use it to make purchases in stores, within apps, and on the web.1

If your account is locked, you can't use Apple Cash to make purchases; add, send and receive money; or transfer the money in your account.

You’ll need to discuss this “or some type of error” matter with the folks that work for Apple. Use the Get Support link in the upper right. We’re other users like you, and don’t and can’t see your Apple ID info nor your Apple Cash info.

Are you at least 18 and a US citizen?

What is the issue you are having when you go to settings>Wallet & Apple Pay>Apple Cash - turn on. what error message are you getting?

If Apple won’t clear your Apple Pay account for cash transactions, that won’t get addressed here.

You’re left to find some other means of transferring cash.
