Review large attachments to free up storage on iPad

I always end up with a ton of pictures, gifs or videos in my text messages that add to iCloud storage. I know where I can go to delete these (general-iCloud storage-review large attachments) then it looks like I have to delete each one individually...and I have like hundreds. How do I avoid having these take up storage in the first place? So I don’t have to delete each one individually to free up space? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are concerned about attachments in your email taking up a lot of storage and want to avoid this storage issue. You are not able to avoid having these attachments take up space on your device. You would need to delete attachments you no longer want. You can submit feedback about this here: Product Feedback.
