With iCloud, the default and free account limit is 5GB. If you want more than that, you buy a subscription for more. But if not willing to pay, then 5GB is all you can get. Apple doesn’t give away iCloud storage beyond that 5GB, they charge file it. As do all other online storage services. They all have a certain amount for free, and beyond that, there are fees for more.
