Imac early 2008 wont boot

Pressing option key after chime, not loading manager. Stuck on white screen.

Wont boot I have a 2008 iMac that gets stuck on the 100% progress bar. It used to boot up to utilities and it wouldn’t let me install anything so I switched it so it booted off if the hard drive with the Mac OS on it and now it just gets stuck. I’ve reset smc and pram. I’ve done basically everything. How do I fix this

Mac stuck on white screen, No bootup keypresses work When I start my iMac up I am greeted with a bootup chime, after that there is no apple logo and the screen stays white. I tried booting into recovery, internet recover and verbose more. I also tried clearing the SMC. When trying any of the bootup keypresses the mac dose nothing. I had the mac into internet recovery once before and installed the os, but when it rebooted from installing there was nothing there.

I hate to say it, but given the age of your computer it may be ailing. I suggest you try starting up in the Diagnostic Mode (restart and press the D key). Then see what you get.
