New Magic Keyboard (2020) with iPad Pro (2nd generation) 11-inch - keyboard keys not working

I ordered the new Magic Keyboard for my iPad Pro 11-inch. Attached the iPad and the keyboard keys are not working. If I plug in the USB-C to the Keyboard it shows charging, so that functions. But, none of the keys or trackpad show on the iPad screen.

I've powered down and restarted
Wiped the connection dots
Connected the iPad to my old keyboard, which still works
Checked for software updates, all up to date

Appreciate your help!
