Bedtime alarm working but silently

I had this problem with iPhone 8 and had to set a regular alarm. When I recently got an 11, I went back to using the bedtime feature. After working all week, it went off silently this morning.

This problem doesn’t occur with regular alarms, but I prefer the “Orbit” tone, which isn’t available in the regular alarm tones.

I usually have my phone muted and I always have it muted at night.

When the bedtime alarm has worked properly, the phone has always been muted.

Thanks for getting back. I set it to a time when I would be awake and in the same room with my watch. 💡

I charge my watch in my office with the crown up, so the watch was sounding the alarm instead of the phone by my bed. I have since disabled nightstand mode, and my phone made sweet music this morning. This might be something to consider when others are having this issue. At the moment the problem seems to be solved. Another thing, this did not affect the “other” alarm feature, only the bedtime alarm.

Hi timagah,

It sounds like your alarm set up with Bedtime isn't making a sound, but is going off.

If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to "None." Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound. Also, be sure to check out the rest of the advice in "Get help with alarms" in How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone.

If the issue remains, let us know if you set the alarm when you're awake, if you can hear it. This will test the alarm functions.

Best!
