cant reset my login pass on macbook pro

Since i forgot my log in pass, i tried to reset my login pass through Apple ID, but error message shows up n says unable to connect to apple ID server, even though

wifi or wired network is connected without prob. on other devices, except for this macbook.

Apple service personnel guided me to login as guest to try to solve it but because the internet seemed to be not working just on this pc, told me there is no option but to reboot the pc.

Please let me know if youve experienced the same and possibly have other solution, i would like to know.

Wondering if you have the correct URL for Apple ID, because you get "unable to connect."

Since you forgot your log in password on MacBook Pro: try following the steps given in Apple's "how to reset your password".

You can choose the Operating System you use at the top, and scroll down to the info. for the MacBook Pro:

Thanks for the reply, actually the message was literally "Error in connecting to Apple ID server"

My OS is HighSierra 10.13.4, i didnt use it for couple of years.

and i could not get to sign in menu in mac..

When I log in as guest, only Safari is opened and when i tried to open any site, it will just show “localized string not found”

Wifi mark is all black and connectivity is not a problem in other devices except for this.

So it seems the main difficulty is still not being able to reset the password because of not getting an internet connection.

Yet your other devices connect ok.

I guess you couldn't work through Apple's "Solve Internet problems, (link above) without an Internet connection?

You could maybe check it out on a different device with Internert connection ? Sorry I haven't been able to help you much, as yet.

Wondering which version of MacBook Pro you are using, and whether you tried to connect it by Ethernet cable, or just wi-fi ?

When you logged in as guest, were you able to see if the MacBook Pro is charged, and does the Adaptor work ok ?
