Delete your account

At any time or for any reason you can request to permanently delete your account.

For your security, we verify all deletion requests. This process takes up to seven days.

Your account will remain active while verification is in progress.

Before deleting your account:


Account deletion is permanent. If you aren’t planning to use your account for now but may consider returning to it in the future, we recommend temporary deactivation instead of deletion.

App Store and iTunes


If you see a message that says "Your account has been disabled in the App Store and iTunes," there might be a problem with the payment method that you have on file.


When you see the message, don't try to edit any of your account information. Instead, contact Apple Support for help.

Apple ID


If you can't unlock your Apple ID


If you use security questions with your Apple ID, or if you don't have access to a trusted device or phone number, go to iforgot.apple.com. Then you can unlock your account with your existing password or reset your password.

Apple Cash


If your account is restricted, you can still transfer your Apple Cash balance to your bank or use it to make purchases in stores, within apps, and on the web. If your account is locked, you can't use Apple Cash to make purchases; add, send and receive money; or transfer the money in your account.
