Dictation sound visualization

I got an iPhone 12 Pro Max yesterday, and this is my very first iPhone. On android I relied heavily on voice input. So this peculiar behavior with voice dictation is concerning me.

Sometimes the visualization is very fluid and pretty looking. But most of the time it seems like it’s frozen and then it flickers and looks broken. On phones I’ve owned in the past, little glitches like this were indicated of more problems to come like camera glitches and such. Not software related no amount of factory resets will fix them. This doesn’t look like something Apple would ship. I think I might have a lemon.
