why xcode-select is gone after upgrading big sur to 10.2.2 ??

quite simple.

i had installed python3, xcode-install, etc... after the upgrade of 10.2.2 they are gone.

why ? where it says he was gonna do that ??

what else updates are doing without asking for permissions or being announced in the changelog/notes ??? installing or enabling features that I disabled ??? or disabling/uninstalling things that I enabled & installed ??....

Reinstall the command-line developer tools for Xcode 12.4. I updated to macOS 11.2.2 and nothing changed with Xcode 12.4 or the CLT 12.4 on my M1 mini.

The CLT 12.4 installation installs an antiquated Python 3.8.2 and /usr/bin/python3. If you installed any other python3 (as you should for currency) then the installation of macOS 11.2.2 should not have changed that installation. It did not have an effect on my installation of python3.9.1.

As is always the case, an incorrectly set PATH will determine which python3 you actually access.

look.. i had vscode, other python, brew, etc installed.

xcode-select brings also GIT tools.

After update, git, python3, etc all gone (all the xcode-select content) in fact brew wasn't able to work, so the scenario where u have brew with a non working GIT doesn't exists.. but git was gone.

I had to install xcode-select again, and my question is why it got removed and not upgraded ?
