My son spent £££ on Roblox - refund approved but says credit note

Hi,

My son spent a lot of money on Roblox without permission. It says it the refund has been approved but it also says credit note. The money came off my husband’s bank card.

I understand the money can take a while to return to our account but I’m concerned that it says credit note on the refund.

Please tell me this money will go back into our account? He actually cleaned the account out and the card was declined in the shop when my husband tried to buy some shopping, that’s when we realised what had happened!!

I did some web researching on that terms and Apple. Replies from Community Specialists have simply pointed to a link that doesn't mention "credit note", just how long a refund will take and that refunds will be made back to the payment type used. A similar question to yours here got a reply that also isn't particularly informative: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252406680

On the other hand posts in this community dating from several years ago say that a credit note means money will be refunded as a balance in your Apple ID account which can be used as future purchases with the iTunes and App Stores, not money back into your bank account.

Sorry but I spent 10 minutes trying to find what it means and I didn't see anything definitive. Please post back here when you find out!
