AirPlay 2 - Audio Groups - ATV 2012 1080p Version

Hey folks,

This may be more of a feature request, but does anyone know how to enable grouping older ATV in an AirPlay 2 wireless group?

The reason I ask is the device has an optical out that you can push into a nice DAC, and it would be a great use for this since the device is more or less obsolete now.

Apple you could breathe new life/use into these older AppleTVs with an upgrade like that (reduce some eWaste!). The optical out actually sounds pretty good and would be awesome to use as part of my multiform setup.

Unfortunately for your idea, Apple ends all active support on old equipment, some 5–7 years (depending on region) after discontinuing sales for that model, with no exceptions. Vintage and obsolete products - Apple Support
