I’m trying to pair my watch and my phone. I am following all the steps but I get an error message that says it couldn’t update the watch because I am not connected to the internet. I am connected to my wifi in my home.

I am connected to wifi. I tried restarting my phone snd resetting the watch and I still get this message.

I reset everything, updated everything and now when I try to pair my phone with the watch, the watch requires an update. I allow the update but it keeps saying I'm not connected to the internet, which I know I am. I have tried connected to the wifi and to data, but still get the error message! Apple watch I am trying to pair my apple watch to my iPhone after not using it for a year and I keep getting the error message saying it cannot update because I am not connected to the internet. Can't get passed this point so can't set up my apple watch. I have tried deleting app and then reinstalling and resetting my apple watch. Nothing seems to work!

Setting up an Apple Watch and won’t connect to phone. Watch app also says that the update I’m trying to do can’t happen because I’m not connected to the internet but I am Trying connect a new Apple Watch device to my iPhone and it’s saying I need to complete an update on the watch before getting any further. I have attempted to do this update 5+ times now and each time my phone comes up with a message saying “Unable to verify Update The watchos update couldn’t be verified because you are not connected to the internet”. However my phone is connected to the internet and stays connected. any suggestions as to what I can do please?
