Does my iPad use the AAC codec for bluetooth?

I have an iPad Air, first version, from 2016. I found a post here that says it has two codecs available for music encoding and streaming, including AAC. So I have two questions.

How do I set up the iPad to always use AAC on the bluetooth connection?

What does the headphone socket deliver via a cable connection? If this is SBC, how do I change it to AAC?

If anyone can help I will be very thankful. Its a nightmare trying to find out anything from Apple. Thanks!

Thank you JB. I am not thinking right, the 3.5mm jack is a cable connection. What I was trying to get at is whether the audio signal to the 3.5mm jack is compressed. I download lossless audio files from Bandcamp and would like to hear full dynamic sound through the headphones. Thinking of buying high resolution ‘phones but no point if the weak link is the iPad.
