Yellow and green dot at the top of your phone

Yellow and green dot at the top of your phone, The response from Apple is you can’t do anything about it to turn off the microphone on an app that you are being alerted to. What is the point of the dot alert if you can’t do anything about it?

That makes no sense and sounds like an excuse for being able to do what you want to do. Why would you need to alert someone of something unless it was something they didn’t want and you could offer a way to stop it?Why has there not been any updated software sent to fix this?

The dots are so apps are more transparent with what privacy related features they are using.

You can turn off camera and mic use by app at Settings... Privacy...Camera/Microphone. However if you want an app to have access still those lights will come on.

So, you are ok with the idea of not knowing when an unknown app might be recording everything you might say? While it might seem silly to have the orange dot showing when you are knowingly using the microphone, as in making a phone call, you now have the capability to know if one of the other million or so apps has access to your microphone.
