Downloaded Google sheets. Upper menu got turned off on my first spreadsheet. I don’t have an arrow on upper right to turn on and off. I have seen elsewhere to use a control alt 7....really?

I understand that Google sheets is a competitor but the some school districts mandate its use. I have an iPad Pro and the missing menu bar where some of the commands are is really annoying, especially since I know if I had a computer I would have access to them.
The link you provide is for computers not an iPad. I’ve tried the keyboard shortcuts and most of them don’t work.
Is there something about the iPad that prevents the main menu bar from being displayed.
