"Null" has access to my camera and camera settings... then more problems

I just noticed when trying to swap into my 7 Plus camera to shoot video of my cat doing something silly my camera froze... and the app crashed. Odd I thought. Then 5 minutes later a notification popped up on my screen saying something like, "Null is accessing your camera and camera settings." Okay or Settings were my options. I clicked on settings... and setting crashed. I tried to open settings several more times only to have it crash every time I tried. I thought it best to restart my phone... Nope. Now the apple logo just cycles through and my phone won't start... I've read other community posts and Apple does not respond to "NULL" questions. Any advice community?

Hello SnappyMcBlueEyes,

We understand that an alert appeared last night saying that "Null" app was using the camera. We'd be happy to assist.

When looking in the Settings area, did you check Settings > General > iPhone Storage to see if any apps show the name "Null" or something else that doesn't look familiar? If not, do that now. You can delete the app by tapping it once, then choosing "Delete App". If nothing is found there, check the Privacy area to see what apps have requested access to the camera. Those steps can be found here: Control access to hardware features on iPhone

If no app appears there, and the alert continues, we recommend reaching out to Apple support to look into this a bit more. They can be reached here: Get Support

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Cheers.
