Pdf from fake apple email

i opened a pdf from an email i received from apple. However the email turned out not to be from apple. has my ipad been compromised?

Due to the system architecture of iOS/iPadOS, unless jailbroken (don’t go there!), your iPad is not susceptible to traditional malware infection per-se. Your iPad is very unlikely to have been compromised.


However, as with all computer systems, there are still vulnerabilities and exploits to which you remain vulnerable. Whilst your iPad is unlikely to be infected by malware, an infected email and/or attachment continues to pose a threat to other computers.


You would be well advised to delete both the PDF attachment - and the email that contained the attachment from your iPad. Remember to delete the offending email from Mail Trash/Bin.
