Almost immediately my incoming calls are being picked up.
What do I need to change in settings to change this.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, your iPhone is automatically answering incoming calls. We've got the solution for you.
This is likely an Accessibility feature enabled. Open up Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Auto Routing > Auto-Answer Calls and switch this feature to 'Off'.
That should sort it out for you. If not, tell us if this only occurs for phone calls or if it happens in other apps like FaceTime or similar.
