Have a couple Homescreen Bookmarks that don’t function properly. There is obvious way to delete them - used to be easy. Get all icons to jiggle, tap the X = gone. Now, no X appears nor does any other option to delete.
What am I missing?
Yes, I went to Settings>General> there ARE no Restrictions settings I can find & to my knowledge I’ve never set any... are they located elsewhere in iOS14?

Try this. Go to:
Settings -> Screen Time -> Content & Privacy -> iTunes & App Store Purchases -> Deleting Apps. It must be on Allow.
Then try again if you can delete the bookmarks on your Home Screen.

You should be able to remove these bookmarks as you would an app. Touch and hold the bookmark on your Home Screen until you see a pop up. Options there should include Delete Bookmark and Edit Home Screen. You can use either option to delete this bookmark. Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you are trying to edit your bookmarks and do not see an option to do so.
To clarify, are you referring to your Safari Home Screen? If so, you can tap and hold your icons to see options to delete and edit. You can also edit your Favorites and Bookmarks using the guidance from Bookmark favorite webpages in Safari on iPhone.

I’ve looked EVERY WHERE I could think of but probably never would have found this! I DID have that set to “Don’t allow,” but since I didn’t THINK of website HomescreenICONS as “apps” I doubt I’d have made that connection.
Since I posed this question I’ve also noticed that - ONLY since the last update to 14.4.1 - I ALSO could not delete actual apps from my iPhone either. Which was annoying because I sometimes download a free version of something to SEE if I care to get a paid version but couldn’t remove it when I DIDN’T want it at all.

Yes & IF that had worked I wouldn’t have posted a question because that USED to work but didn’t anymore after update 14.4.1 😕

Not in Safari, no.
On my iPhone xr Homescreen Bookmarks with iOS14 current upgrade.
Rather than make a Safari Favorite, which I often do, I have a couple sites to which I sometimes return several times a day so a Homescreen Bookmark seemed more practical. One of them, the site doesn’t function properly when I enter via the bookmark from my Homescreen, so now I’d like to delete it permanently.
But when I get “icons jiggling” by press>hold, no X appears to jettison the bookmark nor does an option to delete it any other way I’ve tried.
This is a recent issue & I’m wondering if it’s an iOS14 bug or if I’ve just not discovered the secret yet.
