Why can't I turn off two factor authentication. It is a hindrance and doesn't help me at all.

You have two weeks after you turn it on to cancel it, the link to do so is in the email you received when you activated it. If it has been longer than that then it is too late.

Because many of the services you use on your phone require two factor authentication. So, you can't turn it off.
