How do I make a bootable usb drive to download OS X Yosemite?

how do I make a bootable usb drive in recovery mode? And also can I put the Mac disk image file from windows into a usb and then put the dmg file onto the hard drive?

You really need use a USB flash drive or external hard drive. But you cannot just burn the image file. You need to follow the steps for a bootable installer. How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support. Otherwise, it just won't work.

Okay ima start from the beginning I restored my iMac and went to recovery mode and OS X Mavericks is what popped up but when I put my Apple ID to try and download it it says this item is temporarily unavailableso I searched up a way on how to fix it on YouTube and they said to make a bootable usb drive on windows using transmac which makes the usb “bootable” but that doesn’t work for me
