FYI - my phone is approximately five years old, it is used minimally, I charge it nightly and the other morning this is what I woke up to, it appears that the phone just warped or something, I am in the process of purchasing a new phone but with much difficulty as I cannot access my cell phone they cannot send me a text, I was told by virgin mobile that this would only happen if I dropped the phone which was not the case, thanks

Looks to be a swollen battery, Definitely do not try to charge it and leave it outside your home in case of a fire.
