No, that is not covered as a manufacturing defect.
Your Standard one year warranty does not cover accidental damage .
It does cover hardware breakdowns, but any handling damage or water ingress is excluded.
The rear glass can not be repaired and the device must be replaced.
If you have Theft and Loss coverage this would be a time to use it.
Does AppleCare includes hardware fix?
