iphone 12 pro max camera blackout

Last night after playing games for few minutes my phone get slightly warm ( nothing alarming). I then switch to camera trying to take some pictures and all I got is camera interface with black screen. None of the lens worked. I let the phone cool down and did a restart, that solve the problem. But my question is why the camera blackout at the first place? Can it be overheating? But then again the phone was just warm but not too hot to hold.

Anyone else have the same problem?
