alphabetizing in numbers
I am trying to alphabetize the first column however the row needs to go with the alphabetization. How do I do that and not just the first column only?

All sorts in Numbers sort the rows of a table in an order determined by the values in one column of that table.
To sort a single column, you'll need to isolate that column (or its values) from the rest of the table it is part of.
Copy the values in the column to be sorted independently.
Click on an empty space on the Sheet nd press command-P to paste.
The paste will create a new single column table.
Select the new table, click the v in the column reference tab and choose Sort ascending from the pop-up menu that appears.
Select all cells in the now sorted column. Copy
Select the first data cell in the source column. Paste.
Select and delete the new table.
