MacBook Air becomes very slow when using Google Meet

When I use Google Meet, everything on my MacBook Air becomes very slow and laggy. I have restarted my computer, but the problem persists.

Safari instantly closes tabs opened with cmd+shift+t in tabs group Hi, suddenly Safari started to immediately close tabs I reopened using cmd+shift+t in my tabs groups on my MacBook Air. It still works fine in the main tab group on Safari (the one that cannot be deleted and is always there). I created two tabs groups that are synced between my laptop and iPhone. When I use cmd+shift+t in any of these groups, the recently closed tabs reopens for a second and then disappears instantly without any option to reopen it. Using Cmd+shift+t again reopens the tab closed before, but this new one disappears immediately as well... Any suggestions how to solve this issue?

Available app updates are not showing in App Store->Updates Recenlty, I noticed that I'm not geeting any updates for existing apps in my MacBook Pro. I was using MacOS 12.6.1 and I noticed that one of my app was not working properly. Then, I checked that app in App Store and it was showing an update is available but the same thing is not showing in App Store->Updates. I upgraded my MacOS to 12.6.2 and then 13.1 too. But the problem is still persistent. I have checked few apps individually like Pages, Numbers, iMovies, Keynotes etc. on App Store and I found that updates are available but these updates not showing in App Store->Updates. Please help me.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand you are seeing a decrease in speed when using Google Meet. Let’s see if we can determine what’s causing this behavior.

You didn’t mention, does this only happen when using Google Meet? If so, you may wish to contact Google. Google Meet Help

If the Mac is slow in with general use and other apps, check out the steps found in If your Mac runs slowly.
