Magic Key board will not print all letters

Keyboard is connectedly by USB, says 100% charged and connected - will not print many letters-only some. I have checked all bluetooth/keyboard settings- says connected. I have tried US keyboard and also ABC keyboard. I have tried my wife's keyboard with the same results. Computer worked fine, and the next boot up it did not work. Tried all preferences I could with keyboard and bluetooth. Most other functions seem to work fine. Transferred photos, read email, go on the web - I just cannot use the keyboard - iMac is like 2018/19 Thanks

If the missing letters happen to be 789uiojkl, you need to go to accessibility preferences and turn OFF Mouse Keys. Hitting Option key 5 times may also work.

Time for a New Keyboard?:

What happens when you try a new keyboard? Do you still get the same errors? If so, then it may be the macOS giving you the issue. If this keyboard is giving you this issue on another computer (your wife's) then it is likely the keyboard itself. So, in all, perhaps it is time for a new keyboard.
