Backup photos not in photo system folder to icloud

I want to backup everything on my imac to icloud and to an external drive.

I have Time machine set up to run on the external hard drive.

I want everything to automatically sink with icloud as well. So far it's working for Desktop and Documents. What is in my Photos app is syncing as well.

Before I bought extra room on icloud I didn't have "Importing - Copy items to the Photos library" checked.

Now I have enough room in icloud I want all photos backed up.

Do I have to rebuild the library?

How do I get my home movies backed up to icloud now? They are in my library in apple TV so I can stream them.

Can time machine backup to more than one place?

Basically I'd like a running backup of my whole imac on icloud and the external drive. I'd like it to run like Time machine, (don't have to think about it).

To have all your photos syncing with iCloud, consolidate the referenced files into your Photos Library.

Open your Photos Library in Photos.
Create a new smart album (File > New Smart Album) with the rule "Photo > is > referenced.
Open this new smart album and select several files from this album together.
Then use the command "File > Consolidate". This will copy the original image files into the library and these photos will now upload to iCloud as well.
Repeat this with larger batches of photos from the smart album, until the album is empty and all photos have naow been copied into the library.

Time Machine will backup all folders and subfolders from your system volume, that you have not added to the exclude list in Time Machine. So the folder with your home movies will be included in the Time Machine backup, if you remove it from the exclude list.
