I have a 5th generation iPad, software 14.4 and a Macbook Air version 11.1 with Big Sur.
Handoff switched on on both. Same internet everything. Connected by bluetooth.
iPad is listed as trusted device.
Sidecar "Connect to" is dead, "no Devices."
I wanted to use my iPad as a second screen.
Is it going to be possible?

Thanks. So now, the app Air Display, which I had settled on, requires a download on the Mac using Intel processor, but I have M1.
Google searches specifying "iPad 5th generation monitor for Macbook Air M1," or something with "not Sidecar," is powerless against the search engine's algorithms. Can anyone here advise?
Also: Airplay Display only offers <off> as an option.
Is this because my iPad is not compatible with a pencil?
