Pages loses my Custom Color Palate and Words I add to the Dictionary when it closes

I've had this problem I think ever since I upgraded to Big Sur. I open a new Pages Document, and set up a Custom Colors Palate, and use it, but as soon as I close Pages, the Custom Palate does not save. The same happens to any words I add to the spell checker.

Can anyone help me???

Any new custom color palette is saved in $HOME/Library/Colors as *.clr files. In future Pages sessions, any saved color palettes are available through the color picker's Colors selector. That is my case with Pages v10.3.9.

Words that you tell Pages to Learn Spelling via the secondary menu, or from the Spelling and Grammar panel are added to $HOME/Library/Spelling/LocalDictionary, where they are available for future Pages sessions. Change your Automatic by Language setting to your explicit language to avoid potential spell-checking misses.

Press shift+option+g to open the Finder's Go To Folder dialog, and enter the following in it, and then choose GO:

~/Library

A new Finder window will open with the contents of your local Library displayed. Right-click in the Window and choose New Folder. Name it Colors. This will be a peer folder with the other folders in your Library.

The .clr files are not folders at all but binary config files. See if the presence of that Colors folder now allows you to choose a new color palette from the Pages color picker.

I just thought I'd remove Pages and reinstall it. The problem persists. I then thought I'd create a new Colors Palate. When I click on the little circle and bring up the New - a box pops up which says: "The folder "Unnamed.clr" does not exist. I click ok and it comes back a couple of times then it goes away, and the Unnamed folder appears in the list of color palates. However if I close Pages and open it again - the Palate has disappeared.

Pages v10.3.9 should be installed in /Applications on your startup drive. When you click that color palette tool's circle with three enclosed dots, you should see the following menu which offers to create a new color palette of your name choosing:

I suspect that selecting New from this menu will also create the $HOME/Library/Colors folder if it does not already exist.

Thanks for trying to help... What you described clearly, is what I did and tried to describe in the previous post. The only problem is, no new folder appears in the Library. This has been happening for months. If you have a look at the pictures I uploaded with theist post - when I select "New", a box pops up which says: "The folder "Unnamed.clr" does not exist. I click ok and it comes back a couple of times then it goes away, and the Unnamed folder appears in the list of color palates. However if I close Pages and open it again - the Palate has disappeared.
