If the pop up appears in Safari, we recommend to follow these helpful steps: About pop-up ads and windows in Safari


Now if that doesn't help, you have the option to download and install a third party application called, "Malwarebytes." It claims to remove additional items, including adware and other unwanted software. If you decide to use Malwarebyes, we suggest contacting Malwarebytes for any questions to their product.
