Old Macbook Air Updates

Hey guys! Wondering if some of you may be able to help me out.

I have had my Macbook Air (13-Inch, 2014) (OS X Yosemite 10.10.5) for a while. My App Store says that there are no more downloads available, but I have been on the apple site and seen that I am able to download them. Ive also been wanting to download a few programs, however they require newer OS versions.

My issue is, I don't have much space left on my Macbook to download the updates. Would I have to download each and every update thats came out in order to be up to date?

Thank you all so much in advance :)
