If you signed up for it outside of the Apple TV App, then you need to use the separate Paramount+ App, you cannot use the Channel inside the Apple TV App on any device.


On your Apple TV (device) you would need to download the separate Paramount+ App and sign in with whatever account you used to sign up for it.

That is incorrect. Neither of those is available as a channel through the Apple TV app. You would have signed up to those directly with those providers and merely used your Apple ID for billing. You would have to do the same for Paramount if you want to access it in that manner.


For any channel subscribed to directly in the Apple TV app, it can only be accessed there. Those are hosted by Apple and are separate subscriptions from the ones offered directly through those providers. The same applies to similar services, like Amazon Channels.

I have this issue as well, and have contacted Paramount Plus directly for assistance. Reading this, and looking at some other articles, it appears right now that Apple monopolizes the channels you purchase through Apple TV. For instance, I have Paramount Plus and Showtime in a bundle, as well as Starz, both purchased as Apple subscriptions. However, you don't get credentials for those third party sites and can only watch them through Apple TV (as of right now). I can't log in directly through the Showtime/Paramount/Starz apps and watch their content (which I'm paying for) on a non-Apple device or a device that doesn't support Apple TV (like my older Samsung TV that is smart but no ATV app in the store). I'll see what Paramount says, but it looks like I may cancel these through Apple, and re-subscribe direct so I have control over where I can watch them.

Are you referring to Apple TV + or the Apple TV app? If you are unsure what the difference is please read below:


Apple TV+ is $4.99 per month, everything else in the Apple TV app are additional charges. If you are unclear on what the difference is between Apple TV+ and what the Apple TV app is it's pretty simple.

 

  • The Apple TV app is simply a single place to buy content, including Apple TV+ content, Showtime, CBS, and lots of other content. 
  • Apple TV + is Apple's own proprietary content, currently it is a small library of content which is why it is inexpensive. The good news is the library is constantly growing and adding some pretty good content!

 

If you are still confused please visit www.apple.com/tv and look over Apple's TV offerings which include:

 

  • Apple TV HD (hardware)
  • Apple TV 4K (hardware)
  • Apple TV app (as described above)
  • Apple TV + (as described above)
  • AirPlay
  • Accessories

Im not on Apple TV but my IPhone and I’ve tried subscribing a dozen times to Paramount plus, at first on the website and the first try sent me a confirmation email that I subscribed but it wouldn’t let me login? Or search? The only two options was sign up or log out? So I keep putting in my info over and over nothing so I download the paramount plus app, first try I get a Apple Notification saying my subscription was activated but it was the exact thing as the website! So now I still don’t have Paramount plus but have two different confirmation of subscription notifications!?! And I haven’t gotten NO help from Paramount Plus support tech NOTHING 🤯

I get that and do understand that it's incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, it is their service and they are the only ones who can resolve. Not sure how long ago it was when you reached out, but I would wait a bit and try again. If you are still aren't having any luck with their response and cannot resolve the issue then maybe you should consider cancelling and trying again at another time.

I’m honestly surprised you received a quick reply. I got rid of them when they were still CBS All Access. I liked the content but the constant technical issues and lack of support or ability to provide credit had me mega frustrated. Only took them back after the CBS+Showtime promotion. Gotta get that link to verify too. Helpful info. Thanks

I signed up for Paramount Plus outside of Apple TV on their website. The Playstation 5 doesn't have a Paramount Plus app. And when I go to the Apple TV app on the Playstation 5, it makes me subscribe again for $9.99 a month even I already have a subscription. But the Apple TV app doesn't just let me sign in using my current subscription without paying for it again. Can I sign in to my Paramount Plus subscription on the Apple TV app? Or am I missing something? Thank you.

That's unfortunate because the verbiage on Paramount's website says you can view their content across other connected devices. It leaves this little detail out. Shady. I didn't think it would work because Apple is dead set on preventing sharing content across other platforms or devices if you order within the Apple TV app on Apple TV. I'm not going to rock the boat and cancel it and sign up directly with Paramount Plus. I'll just try to be thankful for the service I'm enjoying on my Apple TV 4K and iPad Pro.
