MacBook Pro Water Damage

A splash of water has somehow got into my speakers whilst I was cooking. I was playing music at the time the sound started crackling, so I turned the music off, for then the crackling noise to continue out of the left speaker. I turned the MacBook off and the noise stopped and I’ve turned it upside down and put some tissue in-between the screen and and keyboard in hope it drains. I’m not an expert in this so have no idea if that’s the right thing to be doing but I read it somewhere. I was wondering if anyone could help me find a solution to the problem?
