Solving Paramount + App login issue on Apple TV (paramount plus)

If you had a subscription to CBS All Access (Especially the bundled CBS All Access / Showtime) and are having problems trying to get the new Paramount + app to restore your access but it isn’t finding your account look at this article from 9 to 5 Mac - search terms I used were: “showtime Apple TV purchase not found”. Was searching any possible potentials and also knew there’d been issues with the Showtime app on my Apple TV. Article is dated 2020/08/17 and titled “how-to-sign-into-CBS-app...” See attached photo.


Basically There is a link in that article - https://www.CBS.com/apple/ that takes you to a login page at Paramount plus where you can connect your Apple purchase with an account at CBS / Paramount.


I assume Paramount will eventually clean up the issues with Apple on these type of purchases not being found by their app or being able to restore the “old” purchase by the new app.


if you are like me though and have been absolutely pulling your hair out trying to figure a solution then figured I should post something here at least.


PS - Total process - searched web approx 2-3 hours, was on chat with Apple for about 1.5 hours, then finally found a phone number for Paramount Support - (888) 274-5343 and waited over an hour on hold to get a rep then found the 9 to 5 article two minutes before connecting to a support guy. We then spent about 10 minutes confirming it had worked and my account looked good now. Sigh. Well at least for the moment. Grin.
