AppleScript: Is there a way to write a custom AppleScript to use custom mp3's as sounds for notifications.
I love my Mac, don't get me wrong, but I've always disliked the System Sounds used for notifications of Apps and now that I am starting to write in AppleScript I was wondering if there is a way to have AppleScript play a custom mp3 as a short loop for a set amount of time or just a short snippet of a full song. I don't want to use a 3rd party application if I can avoid it and I do amateur music creation and recording as a hobby so I would like to utilize the songs I enjoy and hear them more regularly instead of the factory sounds offered with macOS. If not AppleScript maybe Xcode? I know of afplay but that was for OS X so I missed getting to use that. For anybody that actually makes products I'm pretty sure there would be interest in an Apple supported application that works with an Apple coding language that comes with macOS Big Sur so code writers could have an additional way to modify their functionality and make their product stand out form others. Music has changed a lot and what people will spend money on these days for music products is usually production capability as opposed to files made by someone else. I got a Mac because I wanted to have more control over my computer and be able to customize how it works and that includes what it plays out of the speakers; even it is a 5 second sound I would have some 5 second sounds that would be much more pleasurable to me than other people. Just thinking out loud with my keyboard and venting.
