Contact group on Mac duplicating contacts in email

I have a contact group that is not working properly on my Mac. When I insert the group in the recipient line in an email it duplicates some of the names and leaves some of the group out.

The group works just fine on my iPad and iPhone. I have deleted the group on my Mac and recreated it and I have removed it from the cloud and reinstalled it. It still does not work.

Thanks,

Deanna

Hello Deannanel,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We’re happy to lend a hand today with using group contacts in Mail on your Mac.

Are the contacts that duplicate or go missing Apple users, Android users, or a combination of both?

Is your Mac updated to the latest macOS version when you go to the Apple menu > About This Mac > Software Update?

If you restart your Mac in safe mode, does the group contacts work as expected? How to use safe mode on your Mac. If it does, restart your Mac normally and test again. Let us know how that goes when you’re able.

If you still need assistance, just reach back out. We’ll be happy to help.

Take care!
