I have a iPhone EXR and I got a detection notice there was liquid in my Lightning connection how long do I have to wait for to officially try to be able to charge it

I got liquid into my lightning connection a detection came up saying there was liquid How long do I have to wait for to dry for I can charge my phone I accidentally use the heat source to dry out for just 1 to 2 seconds and realize that was a no no help the phone worth otherwise just not able to charge.
