Unable to update my iMac's macOS

Hi, I am attempting to upgrade my OS to use some new software for my Audio Interface. I am on Yosemite,

I have tried to download both catalina AND High sierra, and each time i try to install I get the message that the software is corrupted.

This is kinda not helpful, because APPLLE is the only source of this SW..... so.... what do I do? where can I get non corrupted SW from ?

my computer is late 2009 iMac on Yosemite

First, High Sierra 10.13.6 is the latest version of macOS you can run.

Delete "Install macOS High Sierra" from the Applications folder. Then download again while in Safe Mode.
