apple store turned into a vending machine?

My local apple store has morphed into a vending machine. One cannot look at products nor get help with purchases.

Instead, there are 2 tellers at the front (like old fashioned ticket sellers in movie theaters). Apparently, all they can do is hand you products you bought online.

I am pretty sad, even aghast. When I needed a newer iWatch with fall detection, they shoved my box through a slot.

No one would help me set it up to work with my iPhone and it took hours to do it on my one at home. I would get 90% done and then get prompted to start the same process at the beginning again at least 3 times. I almost threw the watch away, I was so upset.

If I was in the store with staff, this likely would have gone very smoothly.

Will the Apple Stores go back to higher service levels after recovery from the pandemic?

Or, is this all?

Is there a way to provide Apple with this feedback? Other Yelp reviews for poor service at the store?

Other than abandoning the brand?
