Pdf shows white background instead of

Hi,

I have a problem whit all my pdfs that they have white background instead of transparent, the same thing works for svg and eps. Png is transparent as it should, but not the pdf, even thou I insert the pdf somewhere, the background isn't there, but preview is showing white background. I don't know why and Option+Coman+B doesn't work.

Thank you very much for your help.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC > Preferences > Page Display > Page Content and Information > [√] Show transparency grid. That will present PDF with transparent backgrounds as you expect. A far as I can tell, you would have to revisit this preference and deselect the Show transparency grid to return to a non-transparent PDF background.

Preview will not show the same PDF with a transparent background, even though it is a PDF v1.4 document created with Affinity Designer with a placed SVG image.

Hello Sinapa,

It sounds like you are having issues with your PDFs not appearing as expected. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.

There is a similar thread that went over the same issue. It may be able to help. We would recommend reviewing it here: Transparency in Preview / Indesign / PDF

Which app are you currently using to view the PDFs? Also, you may be using an older macOS version, is your device compatible with macOS Big Sur?

Cheers!

Hi,

thank you for your reply but that tip doesn't work.

I'm currently using preview and adobe reader but the problem is the same in both. And I would try to find a solution at Adobe or Affinity, because those are vector apps I'm using to create pdf, but the problem is even in my old pdf files, that I don't see transparent background but just white.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for that reply, and yes, in adobe acrobat reader it now works, but not in Preview or quick preview, but it always worked! I walways saw pdf transparent in preview or quick view but not it stopped for some reason. Like I said even the old ones where I'm for 100% sure that I saw transparent background in preview are not working for now.

Is there some code or something what I can do to see a transparent background in pdf in preview?

Thank you.
