I just bought this keyboard + the iPad Air 10.9 inch device.
The symbols on my keyboard are messed up and I have not been able to figure this out.
I cannot type the @ symbol. If I press Shift + 2, I get "

What am I doing wrong and how do I correct this?

Go to settings > General > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tap over at the right edge. Make sure you have the language you want checked and NOT "automatic" or something else. It sounds like it could be using Spanish instead of US:

If you have Spanish ISO checked in the Hardware Keyboard settings, then your keyboard will behave that way, with @ on Option 2 and * on Shift two keys after P.
