apple pay password

When I tried to use Apple Pay on my computer to make a purchase on the web, it asked for my Apple Pay password instead of touch ID. What is my Apple Pay password? MacBook Pro 2019 with touch ID

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

No to the screen shot. I'd have to pretend to buy something on that website again. Besides it wasn't just the screen, it was the touch bar too. The touch bar did not cue me to use my fingerprint to complete the transaction, but instead had a "button" to use Apple Pay. On the screen it was a standard box for entering a password, specifying my Apple Pay password (didn't know there was such a thing). I tried my AppleID password the first time, and my computer sign-in password the second time. Neither worked, so I used the credit card option instead.

This is the first time I have seen this method for using Apple Pay. With my former computer (no touch bar), it went to my phone for confirmation. With this computer it usually asks for my Touch ID.
