Song to song not transitioning smooth

Noticed listening to an album where each song connects to the next, Apple Music has suddenly stopped it from transitioning smoothly and has half a second where there’s no noise between each song. Only happened this week! Can’t figure it out

apple music cutting off song and/or skipping ahead Over the last few weeks or so I've run into an issue with the way Apple Music behaves on my iPad and iPhone. I have not played it on my MacBook Pro enough to notice, and it definitely happens more on the iPad vs iPhone. I'm using airplay to two HomePods as a stereo pair in my office. If a song is playing, about 20% of the time, Apple Music is abruptly ending the song before it is actually over. It will cut off the last 10-20 seconds. About 20-30%, it's starting the next song at 15-30 seconds in, playing for about 5-10 seconds, before restarting itself back at the beginning. I have restarted all devices with no luck. I'm not sure if it could somehow be related to new iPhone 15 pro max that I switched to recently? My iPad also recently completely froze up- requiring me to reset it as if it were a brand new device (from an iCloud back up via usb-c to my computer). I've tried Sound Check on and off with no change. I have crossfade off because it says right in the setting it does not work with airplay. I tried to turn off sync library on the iPad, but it switches itself back on. I tried it on the mac and iphone- it made no difference. So, it happens mostly on the iPad, and a bit on the iPhone, and haven't noticed it yet on the mac. I thought it might be a bug with the new crossfade option (even though I have this off)? Welcome any thoughts or ideas. Thanks.

Apple Music Issues with IOS 14.4-6 Since IOS 14.4 (or 14.5, I cant remember when), I've been having significant issues with Apple Music on IOS with my iPhone XS. Before things were great and everything worked normally. 14.4(5?) came out and introduced basically an list of issues with Apple Music, most noticeable in Car Play but also across Bluetooth connections. You would hit play on Radio or streamed music and nothing would happen. On CarPlay you'll see the spinning icon in the upper right like there is no signal, even when I have full signal. Sometimes a song would start playing, only to stop a few seconds later, and then repeat this process. What's weird is the progress bar shows the song is continuing to progress, you're just not hearing anything. Also when the song does come back it's where it should be in the song. Another issue is playing a Radio station for example, songs will take up to 1 minute to start playing, and then if you skip you have the same issue, and add in the other issues as well. I've tried Spotify during these times with no issues at all, so I definitely don't think its signal related. Also during these times Map's and everything else functions correctly. I've also tested this on different CarPlay systems and its consistent across all so its definitely my phone. It has been consistent across every IOS version since it started. Unfortunately I cant remember exactly when it did start though. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm about ready to just do a factory reset but I hate to do that unless I have to. Thanks.

Apple Music skips like a scratched CD Apple Music skips like a scratched CD. I don’t know if it cell tower switching, wifi vs cell switching, Apple music buffering or what, but this is a problem that only exists on Apple Music. It doesn’t happen when listening the same songs, or when I’m driving on the same sections of road, or even driving in the same vehicle but it does happen often. It happens on up-to-date iPhone 8, iPhone X, and iPhone 13 pro models. It also happens on iMac and MacBook Pro models running Big Sur and Monterey. I know it’s an Apple Music problem. I just waiting for you to figure it out.

We understand from your post that when listening to music there is no sound in between songs. What you are described sounds like a feature called crossfading. As this is not currently a feature on iOS devices, you may want to consider leaving feedback for Apple for this type of feature to be possibly implemented in a future update:

The issue wasn’t happening before and it was transitioning perfectly until the recent week!
